Imagine, Félix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy came to our World just two hundred years ago!
On the anniversary of his birth we've composed a little serenade, binding a bouquet of his songs and chamber works rarely played in Hungary. Dedicated to the pucker old gentleman, we perform the notorious ‘Witch's Song,’ the effusive ‘Song of a Wayfarer,’ and thirteen more songs. You will listen to his flute-piano sonata and also perhaps the widely known work, `Rondo Capriccioso’.
The better I know Mendelssohn, the more I like him. I admire his musics stretching the traditional harmonies of classic era, but getting the bloodred storms of romantics yet in shy. It is an outstanding experience to bring on air this sensible-tender, gentle grub-silk-like music.
I also admire Mendelssohn's personality, his steady interest and torrential energy turning him to people, music, and the world around him. He helped and inspired his peers such as our Franz Liszt and served the matters of culture whilst maintaining a spirited fellowship. As I have discovered him whilst reading his honorable correspondence.
My musician partners are Ágnes Kovács and Noémi Győri at this eve.
With Ági it is our delicate chance to go on with the common musical excercises after our very first stage appearance held at the Budapest Music Academy this June. Our rehearsal efforts have addressed one of our most favourit genre, Song. I wish to accompany her beautiful voice in such a close hall like the synagogue at Rumbach street, corresponding to such a close genre.
Noémi Győri is a musician with a massive, long-run chamber music co-experience with me. She is my friend, with whom playing is always a special joy and harmony. We've appreciated meetings each other the more, since our opportunities for meeting at music sessions significantly dropped, while she has lived in Austria, and I live in Berlin.
All the way, we expect to have a pleasurable evening on September 2. We are looking forward to meet you, our audience and to open the joyful package, hiding in the musical heritage of the celebrated, pucker old gentleman, Mendelssohn.
The concert is held at the XII. Jewish Summer Festival of Budapest (http://www.zsidonyarifesztival.hu/mendelssohn0902.html). Titles of the performance can be found in the sheet attached.
We kindly invite all interested music fans, on behalf of Ági and Noémi too!
