Bada i Buda - Budapest 1936Bada i Buda - Budapest 1936A 70+ years old film has been found in the archive of the public television of Sweeden. Bada i Buda, i.e. Have a bath in Buda is a ten minutes long film made in 1936, and contains everything that was important: scenes from the air, the Fishermen's Bastion, the guard of the Governor, Chain-bridge, folk-dancing, the Heroe's Square, Great-Hungary arranged from flowers, the Castle of Vajdahunyad in the City Park and as prime attractions the bathes of Budapest, that were called the finest bathes of the world in the most beautiful city of Europe.

The quality of the film is remarkable. The pictures make a feeling in the spectator as we would be there, or much rather THEN, HERE! This is a real time journey! The old Bessy Bridge (honoured nickname used by the budapesters for Sissy, wife of the last monarch Habsburg Franz-Joseph), old automobiles, old swimming dresses, old old Gellért bath with wave service ...

It provides the opportunity of a comparison. We can see the Budapest hills in their original green, with no buildings.

Looking at it is indeed worth for the old and young ones as well!
